Woman arrested in connection with murder of Ballyfermot dad Michael Torney

A lady has been arrested as a part of the investigation into the homicide of Ballyfermot man Michael Tormey.

The father-of-two was shot useless in his entrance backyard on Thomond Road at about 4:30am on January 9.

The girl, in her early 30s, is being held at Clondalkin Garda Station.

A garda spokesman stated officers have arrested a girl as a part of the investigation.

They stated: “A woman in her early 30s has been arrested as part of the investigation into the fatal shooting of a man in his 40s that occurred at a residence in the Thomond Road area of Ballyfermot, County Dublin on Sunday, 9th January, 2022.

“The girl is at the moment being detained at Clondalkin Garda Station beneath Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939.

“Investigations are ongoing.”
