Fo years brave swimmers have taken the plunge for the annual Christmas Day swim at the Forty Foot
Here we take a trip down memory lane at one of Dublin’s annual festive traditions – the Christmas Day swim at the Forty Foot in Sandycove.
Dubliners have been swimming at the popular diving site for over 250 years. The Christmas morning swim may seem like a spontaneous event, but it is one of the capital’s long-standing traditions during the festive period.
While many people enjoy a sleep in on Christmas Day morning, for decades brave swimmers have taken the plunge into the icy cold Irish sea.
Have a look at some of the photos captured at Sandycove on Christmas morning back in 2014.
