Man suspected of drowning near Soap Lake on Saturday

SOAP LAKE, Wash.— A man is suspected of drowning in Alkali Lake, north of Soap Lake, on Saturday afternoon.

The 60-year-old man was swimming when he went under the water and did not resurface.

Deputies searched for several hours looking for the man and were unable to find the victim. They searched on water and air resources from LifeFlight.

Deputies returned to the search on Sunday morning. The Columbia Basin Dive and Rescue Team are on the scene looking to find and recover the body.
