Kate Garraway leaks ‘secret’ about Duchess of Cambridge

Kate Garraway has questioned whether there was an ulterior motive behind the timing of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘s cute Christmas card.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared the first photo of their baby daughter Lilibet in an adorable family picture.

The seven-month-old appears in a snap that features on their 2021 card, which also shows a rare glimpse their two-year-old son Archie sitting on dad Harry’s knee.

But Good Morning Britain’s Kate asked if there was a hidden reason behind when they did it – and she wondered if the pair were trying to ‘usurp’ the Queen.

The official image of the family was released on the same day as Her Majesty’s.

Kate and Richard aren’t sure if if the timing of the card was really off

Co-host Richard Bacon, 37, discussed the situation, saying: “They released their card half an hour before Buckingham Palace and the Queen did.”

Kate then asked: “So is there a suggestion, Richard, that they kind of did that to – in some way – usurp the Queen?”

He responded to her question: “It sounds ridiculous to me but that is obviously the suggestion.

“I think when you live on the west coast over there, you’re just the tiny bit not sure what time it is over here.”

But was it an attempt to usurp the Queen?

ITV News’ Royal Editor Chris Ship was then asked by the new Life Stories host for his take.

But he wasn’t so sure, telling the duo: “It had to be released at some point. The Queen’s picture was released at 10:30pm and that Harry and Meghan photo dropped into my inbox at around 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon.

“I don’t agree that it was done to usurp the Queen, no.”

In the card, Meghan and Harry write: “This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family.

Kate put the question to her co-host during the morning show

“As we look forward to 2022, we have made donations on your behalf to several organizations that honor and protect families – from those being relocated from Afghanistan to American families in need of parental leave.”

The Sussex’s photo was taken by photographer Alexi Lubomirski at their home in California in the summer.

It shows Meghan proudly holding Lilibet aloft with the happy tot smiling back joyfully at her mum.

The Sussexes join the Cambridges and Prince Charles in sharing a 2021 Christmas card photo, but each family has picked a very different snap.

Fans were quick to comment on two-year-old Archie’s flame-red hair.
