Kate Bush impersonators to recreate Wuthering Heights in Fairview Park

A group of Kate Bush impersonators and enthusiasts are to gather in Fairview Park to recreate the dance routine to the performer’s hit Wuthering Heights.

The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever takes place on Saturday, July 30 and is inspired by the 300 Kate Bush impersonators at Shambush’s 2013 event in Brighton UK.

The plan is to ascend on the North Dublin park to recreate the Wuthering Heights experience en masse, allowing for rehearsal time and a picnic.

The event is being organised to fundraise for Women’s Aid, an organisation that works to make women and children in Ireland safe from domestic violence and work towards justice and social change.

The event returns for the first time in three years, having previously taken place before the Covid-19 pandemic in 2019.

It is run by a team of volunteers on a non-profit basis and the registration fee to take part is €5 which goes towards covering the portaloo, Kate Flush, and public liability insurance among other small costs.

Attendees are asked to show up in costume in “twirling red dress” and organisers have some wigs for sale for €10 on their Eventbrite page. These are 50cm long brown-coloured wigs and will be available for collection on the day.

Those heading along are also advised to bring snacks for the picnic, while alcohol won’t be allowed.

The Most Wuthering Heights Day Ever kicks off at 1pm on Saturday, July 30 in Fairview Park, Dublin 3. You can register for a spot here.
