Ireland card payment outrage LIVE: Card machines down in shops across Dublin

There is widespread confusion amongst Dublin buyers this night as numerous card machines are out of motion.

Earlier immediately, companies throughout the nation mentioned they had been unable to course of card funds due to a glitch within the system.

A Dublin bookshop mentioned that there machine was declining all gross sales.

Gutter bookshop tweeted: “Anyone else’s card machines down?

“Neither of ours connecting to service provider providers and declining all gross sales.”

SuperValu and Centra have both apologised for the inconvenience caused to customers.

Centra Ireland tweeted: “Our card cost service supplier is at the moment experiencing technical points which is affecting the processing of card funds at Centra shops in addition to on-line.

“Our provider is working to rectify the issue and to ensure the affected card payment systems will be back working as soon as possible. Customers can pay in cash in stores, as normal, and we apologise to them for any inconvenience caused.”

SuperValu have mentioned that they’re at the moment attempting to repair techincal points.

These points are affecting the processing of card funds of their outlets.

SuperValu tweeted: “Our card payment service provider is currently experiencing technical issues which is affecting the processing of card payments at SuperValu stores as well as online.

“Our supplier is working to rectify the difficulty and to make sure the affected card cost techniques will likely be again working as quickly as potential. Customers pays in money in shops, as regular, and we apologise to them for any inconvenience triggered.”

Card machines in SuperValu Ballyroan, Centra Claddagh Green, Centra Ballyfermot Road, Applegreen Ballyfermot Road, Spar Ballyfermot Road and Centra Drumcondra are all currently out of action.

Supervalu on Sundrive Road, Crumlin are also only accepting cash payments.

A notice reads: “Only money cost immediately. Sorry for inconvenience triggered.”
