Another popular Dublin restaurant has been forced to make the difficult decision to shut up shop for the moment.
The new 8pm closing time has caused serious problems for Dublin businesses that mainly operate at night time.
Trocadero restaurant is an famous meeting spot in Dublin’s city centre but has had its fair share of difficulties during the pandemic.
The team explained that they were saddened to be closing their doors again but that it was no longer possible to stay open with the new restrictions in place.
The theatre restaurant posted: “We are saddened to inform you of our door closing again with immediate effect, due to the current 8pm closure restrictions.
“As we are normally an evening operating restaurant it’s not feasible to remain open for the remainder of January and hopefully we can welcome you back in February when we are allowed to have longer opening hours.”
Regular customers were extremely disappointed to hear the news.
One person said: “This must be heartbreaking for ye all.
“I’ve certainly missed even just my occasional visits to the Troc, but for ye, all these pauses and stoppages must be so painful.
“Thinking of everyone who keeps that place so warm and welcoming, and may we all meet again on the other side of all of this. Take care, keep on keeping on.”
Another wrote: “I’m so so sorry that you are in this situation.
“Hopefully, things will return to some normality at the end of January.
“Here’s to better days ahead, and I’ll be back when you reopen. Meanwhile, take care.”
A third person commented: “Best Restaurant in Dublin with nicest staff.. see you in February.”
